Kirsten Gollatz
Kirsten ist assoziierte Forscherin am HIIG. Zuvor war sie Projektleiterin am Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft, wo sie im Forschungsprogramm I Die Entwicklung der digitalen Gesellschaft zu Fragen von Internet Policy und Governance arbeitete. Sie forschte mit einem Schwerpunkt zu den Bedingungen für die Ausübung von Meinungsfreiheit im Internet, zur Bedeutung transnationaler privater Governance Arrangements, der Automatisierung einer Governance für die Online-Kommunikation, sowie zur Online Partizipation.
Zugleich schreibt Kirsten ihre Doktorarbeit an der Universität Zürich. Darin untersucht sie die Entstehung und den Wandel einer privaten transnationalen Governance für die Regelung gesellschaftlicher Kommunikation auf digitalen Plattformen.
Vergangene und laufende Forschungsprojekte
- Gemeinsame Leitung des Projektes Konkurrent und Komplementär – Das Verhältnis betrieblicher Mitbestimmung und neuer Partizipationsplattformen zur Organisation betrieblich verfasster Mitbestimmung und neuer Formen der Beschäftigtenpartizipation mit Hilfe von Enterprise Social Software.
- Forschung zum Themenbereich Plattform Governance und die Automatisierung in der Governance von Online-Kommunikation.
- Forscherin im Ranking Digital Rights Projekt, welches sich u.a. mit den Richtlinien und Praktiken multi-nationaler Internet- und Telekommunikationsunternehmen sowie deren rechtlichen und politischen Rahmenbedingungen in Bezug auf internationale Meinungsfreiheit und Datenschutznormen beschäftigt.
- Forschungsmitarbeiterin beim Fallstudienbericht der UNESCO/Internet Society mit dem Titel Fostering Freedom Online: the Role of Internet Intermediaries (PDF).
- Fallstudie zum Modell der Enquete-Kommission des Deutschen Bundestages im Rahmen der Reihe Multistakeholder as Governance Groups des Global Network of Interdisciplinary Internet & Society Research Centers (NoC).
Von November 2015 bis einschließlich Mai 2016 war Kirsten Visiting Fellow am Governance Laboratory (GovLab) der New York University in den USA. Der Forschungsaufenthalt in New York wurde durch ein Stipendium des DAAD für Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden unterstützt.
Im Sommer 2012 war Kirsten Forschungspraktikantin am Berkman Center for Internet and Society der Harvard University in den USA. Zuvor arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Projektfeld Kulturelle Quellen von Neuheit am Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB). Kirsten hat einen Masterabschluss im Fach Medien und Politische Kommunikation von der Freien Universität Berlin. Während ihres Studiums arbeitete sie als projektbezogene Forschungsassistentin für Unternehmen, Journalisten, Verbände und andere Forschungseinrichtungen. Ihre Schwerpunkte lagen dabei im Bereich Medienordnungspolitik und -ökonomie, insbesondere zu Governance-Modellen und dem Wandel der Medien- und Kommunikationsmärkte.
