Jascha Bareis
Jascha Bareis ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Technikfolgenabschätzung und Systemanalyse (ITAS) am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) und assoziierter Forscher am Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft (HIIG), Berlin. Er unterstützt das Forschungsprogramm „die Entwicklung der digitalen Gesellschaft“.
Jascha Bareis widmet sich dem Thema der algorithmischen Governance durch eine Verquickung von Politischer Theorie, Medienwissenschaft und Science & Technology Studies. Derzeit arbeitet er im Rahmen seiner Tätigkeit beim ITAS für das wissenschaftliche Beratungsprojekt GOAL, „Governance von und durch Algorithmen“, in Auftrag gegeben von dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, und dem Projekt GVLS, „Gesellschaftliches Vertrauen in lernende Systeme“.
Speziell in Kooperation am HIIG untersucht er diskursive Konstruktionen und normative Dimensionen Künstlicher Intelligenz und Letaler Autonomer Waffensysteme, in Zusammenarbeit mit den Forschungsleitern Dr. Thomas Christan Bächle und Prof. Dr. Cristian Katzenbach.
Er schloss den Kooperationsstudiengang M.A. Politische Theorie an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt und der Technischen Universität Darmstadt ab. Zuvor absolvierte er den Bachelor Studiengang Liberal Arts an dem University College Maastricht.
In Auslandssemestern an der Chinese University of Hong Kong und der Universität Zagreb widmete er sich chinesischer Philosophie und ethischen Fragestellungen der Technologie.
