Freya Hewett
Freya Hewett war Forscherin im AI & Society Lab am Alexnader von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft (HIIG). Ihre Forschung befasst sich primär mit Textkomplexität und -vereinfachung sowie mit computergestützten Methoden in diesem Zusammenhang. Sie ist Teil der Arbeitsgruppe Angewandte Computerlinguistik an der Universität Potsdam, wo sie an ihrer Dissertation zum Thema Kohärenz und Textvereinfachung für deutschsprachige Texte arbeitet.
Nach ihrem Bachelor in Italienischer und Englischer Philologie an der Freien Universität Berlin setzte Freya ihr Studium an der Universität Potsdam im Masterstudiengang Cognitive Systems fort. Dort absolvierte sie Module zu maschinellem Lernen, Computerlinguistik und logischer Programmierung. In ihrer Masterarbeit ging es um die automatische Analyse von Textkomplexität, insbesondere die konzeptuelle Komplexität von deutschsprachigen Texten.
Zuvor war Freya am Institut für Romanistik an der Universität Potsdam als studentische Hilfskraft tätig und hat an Projekten in den Bereichen Open Data und digitale Geisteswissenschaften gearbeitet.
