 a traffic: Everyday illustration of fundamental rights at risk\nHow can we
  ensure that online advertisers respect our fundamental rights? How can pe
 ople actively defend themselves against the collection and use of their pe
 rsonal data? Such questions concerning targeted advertising and digital ri
 ghts have been heatedly debated in public for a long time. As a result\, t
 he EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets standards to protect
 people's fundamental rights on the internet\, including their self-determi
 nation\, non-discrimination and freedom of information.\n\nThe research pr
 oject “Safe in data traffic: Everyday illustration of fundamental rights
  at risk” (SID) investigates how people can be effectively informed abou
 t the potential risks associated with advertisers' use of their personal d
 ata and explores the possibilities for meaningful intervention.\n\n&nbsp\;

 u have any questions or comments\, please reach out to joerg.pohle@hiig.de
