 Küche des Instituts statt. Sagwadi Mabunda ist Doktorandin an der Univers
 ity of the Western Cape\, Südafrika\, in Partnerschaft mit dem HIIG. Ihre
  Forschung konzentriert sich auf die südafrikanische Gesetzgebung zum The
 ma Cybercrime. Die Veranstaltung findet auf englisch statt\, weitere Infor

 ch at HIIG with Ms Sagwadi Mabunda on the question of the inclusion of ‘
 cyberfraud’ in the ambit of cybercrime.\n\nCybercrime is embedded in our
  everyday lexicon in such a way that it gets diluted\, misused and misinte
 rpreted. With the growth of legislative efforts\, policy frameworks and in
 ternational instruments\, it is becoming imperative to have a common under
 standing of what is and isn’t a cybercrime.\n\nSagwadi Mabunda applies t
 he Routine Activities Theory and the Gordon &amp\; Ford Categorisation of 
 cybercrime as her philosophical basis for discussing cybercrime legislativ
 e efforts. She wants to apply this two-part framework to the question of w
 hether “cyber” fraud is correctly classified as true forms of cybercri
 me.\n\nSagwadi is a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape\, 
 South Africa\, in partnership with Humboldt University of Berlin. Her rese
 arch focus is on South Africa’s legislative response to cybercrime: a cr
 itique of the South African Cybercrimes and Cybersecurity Bill.\n\nThe lun
