 schwerpunkte sind unter anderem Cyberlaw\, Geistiges Eigentum und Völkerr
 echt. Vor kurzem erschien Anupams Buch "The Electronic Silk Road: How the 
 Web Binds the World Together in Commerce"\, in welchem er angelehnt an die
  traditionelle Seidenstraße die Entwicklung elektronischer Straßen beleu
 chtet. Sein Fokus liegt dabei auf der juristischen Ausgestaltung für den 
 internationalen Datenverkehr.\nBreaking the Web: Data Localization vs. The

 : Data Localization vs. The Global Internet"\, das über das Social Scienc
 e Research Network abgerufen werden kann. Der Aufsatz beschäftigt sich 
 mit dem Streben von Regierungen\, die Kontrolle über das World Wide Web z
 u intensivieren.\nAbstract | englisch\nA BRICS Internet\, the Euro Cloud\,
  the Iranian Internet. Governments across the world eager to increase cont
 rol over the World Wide Web are tearing it apart. Iran seeks to develop an
  Internet free of Western influences or domestic dissent. The Australian g
 overnment places restrictions on health data leaving the country. South Ko
 rea requires mapping data to be stored domestically. Vietnam insists on a 
 local copy of all Vietnamese data. The nations of the world are erecting S
 chengen zones for data\, undermining the possibility of global services. T
 he last century’s non-tariff barriers to goods have reappeared as firewa
 lls blocking international data flows.\n\nData localization requirements t
 hreaten the major new advances in information technology — not only clou
 d computing\, but also the promise of big data and the Internet of Things.
  Equally important\, data localization requirements undermine social\, eco
 nomic and civil rights by eroding the ability of consumers and businesses 
 to benefit from access to both knowledge and international markets and by 
 giving governments greater control over local information. Legitimate glob
 al anxieties over surveillance and security are justifying governmental me
 asures that break apart the World Wide Web\, without enhancing either priv
