Lunch Talk Series I Grand Challenges, Digitalisation & Sustainability

Die erste Ausgabe unserer Lunch-Talk Reihe „Digital Pathways to Sustainability“ findet am 22. Juni 2022, um 13 Uhr MEZ, mit dem Thema “Grand Challenges, Digitalisation & Sustainability” statt. Die Referent*innen René Bohnsack, Helen Etchanchu, Amanda Porter geben Einblicke in die Themen Grand Challenges, Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit. Ali Aslan Gümüsay wird diesen Lunch Talk moderieren. Diese Veranstaltung findet online und auf Englisch statt.

Speakers

René Bohnsack, PhD, is a Professor for Strategy and Innovation at Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics. He researches the strategic management of innovation at the intersection of digitalisation and sustainability. He is also an avid entrepreneurs, director of the Smart City Innovation Lab and academic director of the Lisbon MBA. Réne Bonsack will talk about “Tech for Good!? The consequences of digital technologies for sustainable development”.

Helen Etchanchu, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Montpellier Business School, and Chairholder on Communication and Organising for Sustainability Transformations (COAST). She researches on how we can organise for and make sense of the grand challenges of our time, such as climate change, inequality, and health. Helen Etchanchu will talk about “Exploring pathways for sustainability transformations: Green growth, degrowth and prosperity”.

Amanda Porter, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Vrije Universiteit, School of Business and Economics, in the KIN Center for Digital Innovation. Her research examines collaborative innovation to tackle grand challenges and how digital technologies can be used to scale impact. Amanda Porter will discuss the “Organising for sustainable development: harnessing open social innovation to accelerate and scale impact”.

 

Moderator

Ali Aslan Gümüsay is Head of the Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Society Research Group at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG). At HIIG, Ali coordinates our projects related to digital innovation and entrepreneurship. This includes work on (social) digital entrepreneurship, platforms, AI, digital transformation, and open innovation. Ali’s own research consists of four streams: values, meaning & hybridity in entrepreneurial settings; grand challenges, innovation & new forms of organizing; societal complexity & engaged scholarship; and digitalisation, AI & the future of work/leadership.

 

Lunch Talk Series: Digital pathways to sustainability

In our digital pathways to sustainability, we explore cutting edge research at the intersection of sustainability and digitalisation that is also highly relevant for practice and policy. Topics include grand challenges, green energy, responsible platforms, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Our aim is to bring researchers and practitioners with a mutual interest on these topics together, exchange ideas, and make research more visible, applicable and impactful.
