Berlin, 01. April 2020 \u2013<\/b> The new European Science Press Service (ESPS) is an information platform for scientific findings in the field of internet and society research. The ESPS was initiated by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) to promote Europe-wide networking and knowledge exchange between research organisations and the media.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ESPS is the first pan-European portal for research news in the field of internet and society. The ESPS publicises news and events from institutions all over Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ESPS draws on information from partner organisations that have joined forces in the Network of Internet and Society Research Centers (NoC). At <\/span>www.sciencepressservice.eu\/<\/span><\/a>, you will find press releases from institutions such as the <\/span>Oxford Internet Institute (OII)<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>Center for Advanced Internet Studies (<\/span><\/a>CAIS) and the CEU School of Public Policy in Budapest. You can also sign up for updates via the newsletter or <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a>.<\/span> The ESPS thus offers all interested parties the opportunity to keep up to date about current scientific developments in the field of internet and society research. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the HIIG<\/i><\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The <\/span><\/i>Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG)<\/span><\/i><\/a> researches the development of the internet from a societal perspective. The aim is to better understand the digitalisation of all spheres of life. As the first research institute in Germany to focus on on internet and society, HIIG has established an understanding that emphasises the embeddedness of digital innovations in societal processes. As node in the <\/span><\/i>Global Network of Interdisciplinary Internet & Society Research Centers<\/span><\/i><\/a>, an initiative of scientific institutions worldwide in the field of interdisciplinary research on internet and society, the institute is trying to develop a European perspective on digital transformation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HIIG was founded in 2011 by the Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin, the University of the Arts Berlin and the Social Science Research Center Berlin, in alliance with the Hans-Bredow Institute for Media Research in Hamburg as an integrated co-operation partner. The research directors of the institute are Prof. Dr. Jeanette Hofmann, Prof. Dr. Bj\u00f6rn Scheuermann, Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Schildhauer and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schul<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
