Thomas Richter works as Customer Lifecycle Manager at the Berliner Stadtwerke. He recently supported the research project “User innovation for Smart Energy” as part of his Master thesis at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) with the topic of user and customer centricity as an innovation approach for local energy suppliers in Germany and their business models.
As a research associate at HIIG, he currently prepares his Ph.D. project in the context of open innovation on the expansion of innovation ecosystems in companies, to include the artist as a new actor.
Thomas studied Business Informatics at the HTW Dresden and the Finnish LUAS. He then worked as a software developer and project manager/consultant in IT for the energy industry. He completed the part-time Master’s program “Leadership in Digital Communication” at the Berlin University of the Arts including a visiting semester in the “Digital Class” (New media art). In addition, he worked in music management for several years and is a co-founder of an indie music label.
