Simon Rinas studied Political Science at the University of Rostock, the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the NRW School of Governance. He graduated with a thesis focussing on political narratives regarding the euro crisis.
Being a doctoral candidate at the University of Duisburg-Essen and associate PhD student at the HIIG, he analysed internet accessibility in the European Union. Accordingly he was engaged in the research area Internet Policy and Governance. In addition to that, he supported the coordination of the HIIG Fellow Programme and functioned as a contact person for applicants, fellows and HIIG researchers.
