Michael Metzger

Michael Metzger studied cultural anthropology, sociology and political science in Würzburg and at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He wrote his master thesis about “Urban Games. The city as a playground”. He received further qualifications in design thinking at the Hasso-Plattner Institute in Potsdam. Since 2002, Michael Metzger worked as a freelancer journalist among others for the AUDIMAX Magazin, ZEIT CAMPUS, TIP and ZITTY Berlin focusing mainly on science, digitalization and urban life. Furthermore, he organizes sciences slams and consults scientists in how to present their research in an appealing and entertaining way. At the HIIG, Michael is responsible for science communication, press, social media and how to engage a wider public with our scientific outputs.
