Dr. Mayte Peters is the Manager of the Network of Centers, based at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet & Society in Berlin. She leads a research project on “Citizenship in the European Union” at the Freie Universität Berlin, joined to a project (Publixphere) she initiated in 2011, which aims to promote political participation on- and offline and to foster the emergence of a European public sphere. Prior to moving to Berlin, she studied International Relations at the University of St. Gallen, where she also completed her doctoral thesis. Parallel to writing her thesis, she set up and ran a photography gallery in Hamburg and worked for the European Capital of Culture 2010.
