New survey: The regulatory conditions of IP interconnection

IP interconnection is often assumed to be unregulated. But locally, public regulation is starting to emerge as interconnection professionals state in a survey conducted by Uta Meier-Hahn. Disclosure regulations, mandatory peering or licensing terms lead to tension between formal and informal norms on the internet.

 

Big Data for President

Do governments make use of the new data and methods? Should they? And does big data follow different rules when applied for government use? First DFG-Project at HIIG: Product Development for Everyone

The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society is a project partner of a newly initiated joint project at the Technical University Berlin. The project is financed by the German and French national research foundations DFG and ANR and focusses on Open Source product development.
