The third edition of this book consecrates it as the benchmark of the subject in Brazil for several reasons: the first one for establishing an intercontinental dialogue between the Brazilian legal tradition of digital law and the European tradition. The second one is because the book has deeply influenced both the academic debate and the Brazilian legislative process regarding the regulation of fake news. And the third is for incorporating new texts and new contents in each edition, making the book a living product of the development of the subject. In this third edition, three new important texts compose the present work: the one by the former vice-president of the German Constitutional Court Wolfgang Hoffmann-Riem, by professors Matthias Kettemann, Anna Sophia Tiedeke, and by Minister Bruno Dantas together with Victor Ribeiro dos Santos. The preface of this work was written by Min. Barroso together with Luna Barroso and the presentation of the third edition by Martin Eifert, professor of media regulation at the Humboldt Universität in Berlin.
