Organizational Resilience and Creativity: Exploring the Future of Educational Technology
What role will educational technology play in the future? How can educational technology be creatively used at the university? In what ways can educational technology contribute to building resilient universities and equip them to cope with future change?
In recent years, the higher education landscape has experienced a rapid digital turn. This has led to many questions regarding the role educational technology will play in the future for higher education institutions. In the research project, “Organizational Resilience and Creativity: Exploring the Future of Educational Technology in Higher Education (ORC)”, we investigate this future by examining the intersection of educational technology, creativity and the resilience of higher education institutions.
Through a mixed methods approach, we explore how universities can become and remain resilient in the face of uncertainty as well as nurture creative practices with technology to meet future challenges. The ORC project aims to conduct impactful research and produce practice-relevant recommendations. Practitioners working with educational technology will be included in various stages of the research process.
Research cooperation
ORC is a cooperation project between the research program “Knowledge & Society” at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society and CATALPA – Center of Advanced Technology for Assisted Learning and Predictive Analytics at the FernUniversität in Hagen. +
This project builds on the OrA project (2020 – 2023), a previous cooperation between HIIG and CATALPA, which examined the organizational factors – leadership, strategy, communication, infrastructure – that contribute to the successful implementation of educational technology in international higher education institutions.
