Nils Hungerland is a student assistant in the research group Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Society at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society.
In the research project “_Gemeinsam Digital” he investigates the interplay between artificial intelligence (AI) and medium-sized companies. Thereby he also supports SMEs e.g. mastering different challenges when applying AI. The project is part of the “Kompetenzzentrum Mittelstand 4.0” and the AI strategy of the Federal Government, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi).
Nils is currently completing a Master’s degree in International Relations at the Freie Universität/Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Previously he studied International Political Economy (MSc) at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Political Science at the University of Bremen. His research interests are trade policy and digital foreign policy. His master thesis deals with Chinese investments in high-tech companies in the EU. Before joining HIIG, he gained professional experience in public service, academia and business.
