Luisa Kruse

Luisa Kruse is working as a research assistant in the project Data & Smart City Governance at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) since August 2023. She mainly focuses on legal issues that arise in the field of smart city governance and data governance.

Luisa’s personal research interests include data-driven public services as well as data protection law and administrative law. In addition to her position at HIIG, Luisa is a research assistant at the Faculty of Law of the Freie Universität Berlin in the University State examination preparation department. Her responsibilities include teaching in the area of public law.

She completed her law studies at Bielefeld University in 2023 with the First Law Examination. Through her Bachelor’s studies in “Law and Management”, which she started in the fall of
2021, Luisa also has economical knowledge.

Besides studying law, she initially worked as a student assistant at the Student Counseling Service for Law at Bielefeld University. She also got involved as a tutor there and is still active as a mentor to support students who are the first academics in their families. Following her activities at the Student Counseling Service, Luisa worked for several years as a student assistant at a renowned business law firm.
