Lena Starke studied Social Sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin and recently completed a semester abroad at Uppsala Universitet in Sweden in the Master’s program Digital Media and Society. In her master’s degree, she focuses on issues in the context of digital societies, digital political communication and platform economy.
Before joining HIIG, she worked as an intern for press and public relations at Initiative D21 e.V. and as a working student in Digital Business at the German Association for Digital Economy (BVDW).
She completed her bachelor’s degree in political science with a focus on international relations, political fields and political administration at Leibniz University Hanover. During her bachelor studies she gained professional experience at the International Office of Leibniz University, the Federal Foreign Office and as a student assistant to a Federal Minister.
At the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society Lena supports the research project “Task Force: European Platform Economy”.
