Klemens Witte is researcher in the research group “Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Society” at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) and is AI trainer for the project “_Gemeinsam digital”.
Klemens holds a master’s degree in political science and intercultural communication (Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg/Moscow State University/Kazan State University), a second master’s degree in Baltic Sea region studies (Södertörns University College/Stockholm) and an LL.M. in international business law (Southwest University of Political Science and Law/Chongqing and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg).
Prior to joining HIIG, he gained working experience in the field of internationalization of SMEs as well as in digitalization and the future of work in Swedish ministries, as a lecturer at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations and in an international think tank. Through his work in a cosmetics company he also has experience in the corporate sector. Besides German and English, he speaks Swedish, Russian and Chinese.
Klemens is working on his doctoral thesis on working conditions in the platform economy and conducted interviews with drivers of Didi chuxing and Yandex Taxi in Moscow and Beijing. Furthermore his research focuses on the question of how artificial intelligence (AI) can contribute to sustainable development and how small and medium-sized enterprises in particular can be supported in the implementation of AI.
