Katja Derichs

Katja Derichs joined the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) in February 2022, and worked as a student assistant in the research project „Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Global Digital Transformation” and in the management team.

She is currently studying for her master’s degree in Political Science at the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science at the Freie Universität Berlin, where she also received her bachelor’s degree. Previously, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in London. In her research, she is particularly interested in questions of political theory and critical perspectives on politics of memory – especially in relation to the legacy of the Shoah and colonialism.

Before joining HIIG, she gained several years of professional experience at the Freie Universität Berlin, Reed College in Oregon, and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
