Johanna Teresa Wallenborn

Johanna Teresa Wallenborn is a student assistant in the research project  „Public Interest AI“, which investigates requirements for AI to serve a public interest on a theoretical and practical level. She is currently studying Futures Studies in the master’s program at Freie Universität Berlin with a focus on technology and politics. Her interest lies in examining narratives and epistemological assumptions that underlie AI research.

After graduating with a B.A. Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Maastricht with a focus on Media Studies, Philosophy and Psychology, she worked as director of NODE Forum for Digital Arts, was Head of Communication at MESO Digital Interiors GmbH and lectured at the Department of Electronic Media at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach on „Creative Applications of AI“. Since then she has curated and produced projects for Goethe Institut, PLATOON Kunsthalle and STATE Festival in Seoul, Mexico and Los Angeles. Before joining the HIIG, she co-founded STATE Studio, an art-science gallery in Berlin-Schöneberg where she was in charge of program and communication.
