Jascha Bareis

Jascha Bareis is about to finish the double degree Masters Political Theory at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and at the Technical University Darmstadt. He approaches the subject of digitalization through merging Political Theory, Media Studies and Science & Technology Studies. Currently, he investigates the discursive constructions around Artificial Intelligence and (lethal) autonomous weapons systems in the political realm. Before Frankfurt, he attended Liberal Arts College Maastricht. He graduated with the thesis: “The shared Individual. A Philosophical Investigation of Individualism in the Context of Facebook supervised by Prof. Tsjalling Swierstra. During an exchange semester at the Chinese University of Hong Kong he dived into Chinese philosophy, history and politics.

Jascha supported the research program “the evolving of digital society”. After, he became an associate researcher.
