Ilja Sperling is a student assistent in the research project Ranking Digital Rights, where he’s working on technical solutions to support the research cycle.
During his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Political Science at FU Berlin and University of Leeds Ilja developed stark interest in digital methods. Right after finishing his Bachelor’s thesis on the ontology of Big Data, Ilja started to pursue a Master’s degree in Computational Social Science. His Master thesis focusses on the potentials of UI/UX Research for improving computational research.
Before joining HIIG, Ilja was student assistant at the Berlin-based Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, technical coordinator in the “Urban Spaces” project, and chair of the student society for security studies in Berlin.
