Hauke Odendahl supports the Science Communication team at HIIG since August 2021.
He is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Communication in Social and Economic Contexts at the University of the Arts. Within this interdisciplinary and research-oriented program, his focus so far has been on designing and investigating mediation strategies for current social issues such as New Labour & Platform Economy or Climate Crisis & Sustainability.
Hauke completed his bachelor’s degree in industrial design at Burg Giebichenstein University of art and Design in Halle. His thesis explores in a conceptual way the question to what extent a designed piece of furniture can contribute to a socio-political discussion. The result, the Union Chair, was accepted into the collection of the Vitra Design Museum and can currently be seen in the permanent exhibition in the Vitra Schaudepot in Weil am Rhein.
Hauke is a fellow of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
