SUMMARY:Berlin Colloquium for Internet and Society 2012
DESCRIPTION:Within the trandisciplinary event "Berlin Colloquium for Intern
 et and Society" early stage researchers came together in order to exchang
 e thoughts and ideas in the fields of Internet and society\, especially P
 atterns of Participation\, Global Rules and Regulation\, Transformation of
  the Public Sphere\, Open Science\, Network-Architecture and Political Com
 munication. It took place from 25 until 26 October 2012 at the HomeBase Be
 rlin in cooperation with Newthinking.\n\n\n\nThe Berlin Colloquium on Inte
 rnet and Society was the first event in the context of the Doctoral Progr
 amme of the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. Th
 e 2-day programme included workshops and paper presentations as well as a 
 public Barcamp. While the first day of the event aimed to academic discu
 ssions in workshops and presentation sessions with the Directors of the Al
 exander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society\, the second day 
 provided the possibility to discuss topics in a Barcamp with a broader ra
 nge of internet users and interested parties.\n\nThank you to all particip
 ants for some very inspiring days driven by the idea of innovative and int
 erdisciplinary research within the field of Internet and society!\n\nThe w
 orkshops\nAll six workshops of the "Berlin Colloquium for Internet and Soc
 iety" were covered by doctoral candidates from the Alexander von Humboldt
