Multi-stakeholder dialogue: Artificial intelligence and sustainability
Tuesday, 14 Feburary 2023 |  9:30 – 14:00 |Hotel Novit
Av. Insurgentes Sur 635, Nápoles, Benito Juárez, 03810 Ciudad de México

The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) and the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Mexico, are organising  a multi-stakeholder dialogue that will explore the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to advance sustainability goals in Mexico. The dialogue will especially focus on the promises and perils of applying AI to tackle climate change and other sustainability challenges such as the loss of biodiversity. The goal of the dialogue is to gain a broad and shared understanding of perspectives, opportunities and challenges associated with applying AI for sustainability.
We will bring together a diverse set of stakeholders from the public and private sector as well as academia who are involved in the field of AI, sustainability or both, in order to enable an exchange of international best practices and to take a closer look at implications for the Mexican ecosystem. The event is organised as part of the research project “Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Global Digital Transformation” (SET) that is conducted by the HIIG and funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The output of the dialogue will be a report documenting opportunities and challenges regarding the deployment of AI for sustainability in Mexico as well as strategies to overcome these challenges.
