Daniel Michelis, Prof. Dr.

Daniel Michelis is an associated researcher in the Innovation Entrepreneurship and Society research focus and a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Anhalt. His research and teaching focus on how digital communication can contribute to positive economic and social development. He addresses the social, economic and ecological challenges of economic and social transformation in a variety of projects. At the HIIG, he is working on the research project ‘Global Citizenship: Exploring Leadership Development in the Global South through Digital Innovation’, in collaboration with international partners.

Professor Michelis studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and the University of Sydney, Australia, among others. He then completed his doctorate at the Institute for Media and Communication Management at the University of St Gallen. In recent years, he has examined the relationship between sustainability and digitalisation in continuing education programmes at Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Kaospiloten in Denmark.
