Chiara Poletti

Chiara Poletti is an ESRC funded PhD researcher in the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University. After being awarded a MSc in Social Science Research Methods with a dissertation focusing on the use of Twitter in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attack, she is now working on a project focusing on social media platforms governance and freedom of expression. 

Her work touches Internet governance; social media platforms, digital rights, cybersecurity and digital methodologies.

Previously she studied Sociology (BA) at the University of Trento (Italy) and Nantes (France) and International Relations (MA) at the School of International Studies in Trento.

She is one of the co-founders of the Digital Stuff Post Graduate research group in Cardiff University (https://digitalstuffcardiff.com) and chair of the steering committee of the PG conference “Digital Communities 2017” funded by the Wales DTP.
