Simone Natale

Simone Natale is a research fellow in the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Society research group. He is also associate professor at the University of Turin, Italy and a research fellow at the University of Bremen in Fall 2022, thanks to a fellowship of the Humboldt Foundation.

His latest research focuses on the intersections between artificial intelligence, technology and communication, and employs mainly historical and qualitative methods. He is the author of Deceitful Media: Artificial Intelligence and Social Life after the Turing Test (Oxford University Press, 2021) and of more than fifty other publications, including articles in journals such as New Media and Society, Communication Theory, the Journal of Communication, Convergence and Critical Studies in Media Communication.

Since 2019, he is Assistant Editor of Media, Culture & Society.
