Alina Kontareva, Dr.
Alina ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin der Forschungsgruppe Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Gesellschaft am Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft (HIIG) und eine der Leitungen des INCA-Projekts (EU Horizon 2020). Ihre Forschungsinteressen sind digitale Plattformen, Strategie, Internetpolitik, digitale Technologie und Innovation.
Alina hat einen Doktortitel in Innovationsstudien vom TIK – Zentrum für Technologie, Innovation und Kultur an der Universität von Oslo. In ihrer Doktorarbeit untersuchte Alina die ungleiche geografische Verteilung von digitalen Plattformen. Sie analysierte, wie Plattformen außerhalb Chinas und der USA entstehen und erfolgreich mit globalen Giganten wie Google, Amazon und Facebook konkurrieren können.
Bevor sie sich auf Plattformen konzentrierte, erforschte Alina die Internetbranche in Russland und war Mitarbeiterin des Zentrums für Wissenschafts- und Technologiestudien an der Europäischen Universität in St. Petersburg. Im Rahmen des Projekts “Russian Computer Scientist At Home and Abroad” (Russische Informatiker im In- und Ausland) untersuchte Alina die Abwanderung von Technikspezialisten, den Technologietransfer von der akademischen Welt in die Industrie und die Rolle von Politik und Gesellschaft bei russischen Innovationen.
Alina war Fulbright-Stipendiatin (2017) und Gastforscherin an der UC Davis (2014) und der UW Madison (2022).
